Terms of service
Version: 2026-11-02
These terms describe the use of timeasy Pro by consumers and business customers. Purchases through Paddle or an app store are also subject to the terms applicable to that purchase channel.
1. Provider and scope
The timeasy service is provided by Achim Hilwers, trading as Softqo, Schützenstraße 17, 26676 Barßel, Germany. Contact: info@timeasy.org.
These terms apply to timeasy Pro, our hosted service, and the connected mobile app. They cover consumers and business customers. Consumers are natural persons acting predominantly for private purposes; business customers act in the course of their trade or independent profession. The purpose of the particular transaction determines the distinction.
2. Service scope
timeasy supports recording, synchronising, reviewing and exporting work time. Enabled integrations can associate time with GitHub, GitLab or Jira issues. timeasy Pro includes hosted access, use of the supported mobile app and support.
The service description at contract formation and the entitlement purchased determine the agreed scope. Supported platforms and technical requirements are described in the product information and relevant app-store listing. Mentioning a platform does not promise that a store release is already available.
Use requires a suitable device and an internet connection. Support is available at support@timeasy.org. Specific response times or availability percentages apply only if expressly agreed. Statutory performance and defect rights remain unaffected.
3. Accounts, contract formation and purchase channels
An account is required to use timeasy Pro. Registration information must be accurate and login credentials protected against unauthorised use. Minors require their legal representative’s consent where required by law.
These terms become part of the service contract only if made available before contract formation and validly agreed. The registration or booking flow identifies when a contract is formed and any payment obligation. Creating an account alone does not create a paid subscription without a corresponding order.
Web purchases are processed through Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle buyer terms govern the purchase through Paddle; our terms address use of the timeasy service. In-app purchases also involve the contractual and payment terms displayed by the relevant store. The checkout and receipt identify the parties and contractual basis.
RevenueCat associates subscriptions with the timeasy account and recognises entitlements across platforms. Changing device or signing in on another supported platform does not generally require another purchase for the same active entitlement.
4. Prices, payment and non-payment
For consumers in Germany, the offered final prices are EUR 5.99 per month or EUR 59.99 for the initial yearly term, including VAT where applicable. Monthly and yearly plans include the same timeasy Pro features.
The total price for the particular order, currency, payment method, billing period and any different local store prices are displayed before a paid order is placed. The purchase flow must clearly identify the total price and recurring payments.
Payment and invoicing are handled through the relevant purchase channel. Updating these terms does not by itself increase prices for an existing contractual period. Price changes for ongoing contracts require a valid agreement or another lawful basis.
If a payment due for timeasy Pro remains unpaid and no active entitlement remains, access to paid features of timeasy Pro may be restricted to the extent necessary and proportionate until the entitlement is restored. A failed payment attempt alone does not trigger a restriction while an active entitlement remains. Paid access periods, applicable payment or grace periods and the customer’s statutory rights to withhold performance must be respected.
The payment screen remains accessible during the restriction so that payment can be made through the relevant purchase channel. Access to timeasy Pro is restored once payment and an active entitlement are confirmed. For help, contact support@timeasy.org.
Non-payment alone does not trigger deletion of your account, project or time-entry data. Restricting access is distinct from deleting an account or deleting data on a separate statutory or contractual ground. The privacy policy and your statutory rights remain applicable.
5. Term and renewal
The initial term is one month for the monthly plan and twelve months for the yearly plan. Ordinary cancellation may be declared during that term to take effect at the end of the initial term.
Where the service contract then continues automatically, it continues for an indefinite period and may be cancelled at any time on no more than one month’s notice. These terms do not establish another fixed annual commitment. This is the common baseline for consumers and business customers.
Billing periods are distinct from permissible contractual commitment. Where advance payments cover a period after effective contract termination, billing and any refund entitlement must be adjusted through the relevant purchase provider. Mandatory statutory rights prevail over conflicting purchase-channel rules.
6. Cancellation and termination
Subscription management follows the purchase channel: for Paddle, use the option in the purchase confirmation or customer portal; for Apple or Google, use the relevant store account’s subscription management. We assist with identifying and handling requests at support@timeasy.org. Legally permitted ways to give notice remain available.
Cancellation ends the agreed use on its effective date. Deleting the app or an account does not replace cancellation with the relevant purchase contracting party. Statutory termination for good cause remains available.
Where statutory online cancellation or withdrawal functions are required, their applicable requirements must be met. A link to an information page or a referral to support does not replace a required technical function.
7. Consumer withdrawal and refunds
These terms do not restrict consumers’ statutory withdrawal rights. The withdrawal information and, where applicable, model withdrawal form required for the particular contract must be provided as part of that contract formation process.
Enabling access or first sign-in does not alone extinguish a statutory withdrawal right for an ongoing digital service. The legal requirements for early service delivery, any payment for services already delivered or expiry of a withdrawal right must be satisfied separately.
Billing and repayment must take account of the purchase channel. Contractual refund procedures do not restrict mandatory claims for withdrawal, defects or other statutory reasons. These terms do not grant an additional general money-back guarantee.
8. Permitted use and account security
You may use timeasy for private or business time tracking within the agreed scope. Content and integrations must be used lawfully. Access tokens and other people’s data may only be used with appropriate authorisation.
Prohibited conduct includes unauthorised access to other accounts, distributing malware, targeted attacks and abusive loading of the service. This does not impose a blanket restriction on lawful security research or rights under open-source licences.
Where there is specific evidence of serious unlawful use or a security threat, we may temporarily restrict the affected access to the extent necessary and proportionate. Where feasible, we explain the reason and remedy beforehand; urgent risks may require information afterwards. Restrictions end when their cause no longer applies. Statutory termination and defect rights remain unaffected.
9. Your content, export and privacy
Rights in content you provide remain with you or the relevant rights holders. We receive only the permissions needed to provide, store, synchronise and export the content as agreed.
Use available export features to retain data you need before the contract ends. This reminder does not restrict statutory rights to content, data availability or data protection. These terms do not provide for immediate automatic deletion of all content when a subscription is cancelled.
The privacy policy explains personal data processing and planned retention periods. Where processing on a customer’s behalf requires a data processing agreement, it must be agreed separately; these terms do not replace it.
10. Maintenance and development
We carry out necessary maintenance and security measures. Where possible, planned substantial interruptions are announced with reasonable notice. Urgent security issues may require measures at short notice.
Changes beyond maintaining conformity may be justified by new security requirements, legal obligations or changes to necessary technical interfaces. Such changes may not arbitrarily remove the agreed service scope. Consumer contracts are additionally subject to section 327r of the German Civil Code, including information requirements, no additional cost for the change and any applicable termination right.
Changing the website or publishing a new version of these terms does not automatically amend an existing contract. Any necessary agreement and statutory information requirements must still be observed.
11. Defects and liability
Statutory provisions govern defects and damages. In particular, consumers’ statutory rights regarding digital products are not excluded by a blanket “as is” provision.
These terms do not impose a blanket exclusion for data loss, security incidents, intent, gross negligence or injury to life, body or health. Guidance about export, backups and third-party integrations does not restrict statutory liability.
12. Open source and self-hosting
The timeasy repository is provided under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 (AGPLv3). The licence texts applicable to the components obtained govern their use. These terms do not restrict rights to use, modify, redistribute or self-host granted by those licences.
A timeasy Pro subscription pays for the hosting and services we provide. It is not required to operate open-source components yourself under their licences. These terms do not give self-hosted installations an entitlement to our hosting infrastructure or separately agreed support.
13. Applicable law and disputes
German law applies to the service contract with us. Consumers retain mandatory protections of their country of habitual residence where the legal conditions apply. This choice of law does not independently amend the terms of a separate agreement with Paddle or a store provider.
Statutory rules on court jurisdiction remain unaffected. These terms do not impose exclusive jurisdiction at our place of business on consumers, compulsory private arbitration or a waiver of statutory remedies.
